It's Always Give, Give, Give

Talk about a giving attitude. Just in time for the season, Karma Café (1617 San Pedro NE, Ste. B) opened last week, offering a “pay as you feel” model to diners. I'll be watching this restaurant's performance very carefully and taking notes. Time to get some concrete numbers on a real world example of Karma in action.

A Busload of Generosity

The 2016 Stuff the Bus Food Drive went off without a hitch. Last Friday, a team of local volunteers spent the day collecting non-perishable foods to support local pantries. Anyone who missed it can still donate to any pantry location in the city.

Send 'Em Our Way

If you or anyone you know is in need of a good Thanksgiving meal, here's a list of businesses and organizations that will be sponsoring free meals for those in need.

Driven to Share

Thanksgiving is nearly here, but some of our neighbors are going to need help for rest of the holiday season. Last week, Governor Susana Martinez announced a new "Pull Together" program to collect food and toys for New Mexico kids and families. How Embarrassing

Do you know the food allergies or dietary needs of your holiday dinner guests? Have you asked? Tsk tsk. Check out this guide to food sensitivity and special diet etiquette for the holidays.

A Little Change Will Do You Good

That's it. If I have to look at one more Thanksgiving meal with mashed potatoes, green bean casserole or stuffing I am going to scream. Throw some variety in there, people! Here are some exotic recipes to spice up your meal. Now, that's something to be thankful for. (Also: I was only pretending for dramatic effect. I could never live without mashed potatoes, green bean casserole or stuffing.)
