Post-punk/art rock outfit Venus Bogardus hails from the City Different and consistently delivers catchy, literate work. On Friday, March 15, Venus Bogardus rocks Burt’s Tiki Lounge (313 Gold SW), along with solo experimentalist Lady Uranium and Santa Fe-based “post-whatever” punk outfit These Charming Cobras. Dark dance party Dominion teams up with Albuquerque-based label DSBP Records to host aggressive electro-industrial foursome Diverje’s CD release party. On Friday, March 15, Diverje stages a coming-out party for their latest with performances by Unnatural Element, Malifick Satyrino, Black Widow Cabal and DJs Nihil, Dammerung and Xibalbalola. This party is 21-and-over and kicks off at 9 p.m. at Launchpad (618 Central SW), and tickets are $3.

Get your green beer and rockabilly fixes at the ShamRock-A-Billy Showdown on Saturday, March 16, featuring Denver outlaws The Barnyard Stompers, local hillbilly rock outfit Cowboys and Indian, Phoenix-based rip-it-up duo Voodoo Swing, local country-bop four-piece The Shadow Men and straight-up rockabilly trio Mr. Right and the Leftovers. This 21-and-over show revs up at Low Spirits (2823 2nd Street NW) at 8 p.m., and 5 bucks gets you in.

Santa Fe-based experimental psych-rock duo We Drew Lightning releases a new album, Glitch, on Saturday, March 16 at High Mayhem (2811 Siler Lane). San Diego-based industrial doom/drone act Author and Punisher rounds out the bill. This all-ages gig pumps up the volume at 8 p.m., and tickets are $10.
