Doors open at 8 p.m. and DJ Abel will start things off, followed by Native Roots and their cool-vibe reggae and Caribbean grooves. Robert Mirabal and the Rare Tribe Mob will offer up a spiritually moving concoction of Alter-Native rock, poetry and tribal beats, and Casper and the Mighty 602 Band will follow. Last but not least, Red Earth will finish the evening off with their tribal stew of rock, ska, jazz, metal and Latin. Comedian Don Burnstick will emcee the night's events. All in all, every performer of the night could easily be the headliner, so missing even one would be a travesty.
Tickets cost $20 in advance and can be purchased at tribalstew.com. If you plan on purchasing your tickets on the day of the show, plan on paying $25 and also plan on waiting in line to get in. Tonight is the night to celebrate New Mexico's unique culture and long-lasting heritage, even if you're a transplant from some other part of the country. Get a taste of what it means to be from the Southwest.
