Brian Joseph at Bosque House—On the back of Brian’s new CD If I Never Sleep Again is a quite unsettling picture of his body with an infant’s head. Unsettling, sure, but fitting for this very baby-inspired album, which contains some heartfelt and amusing lyrics like, “Someday you’ll ride on the handlebars/I’ll make believe that it’s safe/and I’ll help you pick little pieces of gravel/out of the side of your face.” Ah, the love of a father. Brian will be playing a Bosque House concert on Monday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 and reservations are required, so call Jeff now at 842-5073.

The Itsy-Bitsy Spider—It’s now! It’s wow! It’s now meets wow! Or whatever that means. After a journey from one musical endeavor to another, Tobi Vail from Bikini Kill is performing in the now-meets-wow group Spider and the Webs with James Maeda (Serum Greys, November Witch) and Chris Sutton (C.O.C.O., Dub Narcotic Sound System). My guess is that Tobi is the spider. They’ll kick down the door of the Launchpad with The Old Haunts, The Dirty Projectors, The Spunks and Gitogito Hustler at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21.

Debut— Mister Silver will have their debut show at Harlow’s on the Hill on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, from 8 to 10 p.m. Catch the trio comprised of Sean O’Connor, Jack Portner and Debo (also from Alpha Blue) playing traditional and punk Irish songs with the occasional a cappella sea chanty.
