But if you're still hungry for Geronimo, the exclusive and exciting world of Santa Fe's fine dining scene is about to come a little closer to home this week. On Thursday, Nov. 10, Chef DiStefano will be the guest of honor at this year's Elegant Autumn Evening, sponsored by the Merchants of Flying Star Plaza on Rio Grande NW. The evening shop and stroll is a celebration of New Mexican taste, as well as the 21st birthday party of locally owned and operated cookbook haven Bookworks.
Enjoy luminarias and live music from the Children’s Mariachi Band between 5 and 8 p.m., and some exclusive treats from businesses along the Flying Star Plaza strip.
This is all subject to change, but from what I've heard, Bookworks will dole out slices of birthday cake as Chef DiStefano signs and discusses his Geronimo: Fine Dining in Santa Fe. Stop by Pennysmiths Paper for sangria and tapas, and the chance to win a catered holiday party for eight guests. The newly renamed Simply Home (formerly known as Not Just Pots and Pans) will have Gruet champagne, chile chocolates and a drawing from their Lady Primrose line of bath and beauty products. Pop in to flower merchant Wildflower Wrangler for chips and salsa and a cup of spiced cider, then head next door to women's fashion boutique Willow for gourmet bizcochitos and hot mulled wine.
Can't make the event? Call Bookworks at 344-8139 to reserve a signed copy of Chef Eric DiStefano's book.
