The ABQ BioPark is selling tickets to a four course meal and dessert in the park’s apple orchard—made completely from fresh ingredients found in the park’s Heritage Farm. The Heritage Farm Harvest dinner happens Oct. 8.
The Seattle Seahawks invited ABQ’s Joe Powdrell of Mr. Powdrell’s Barbeque House to their opening game last weekend. The team’s owner is reportedly in talks with Powdrell about selling food anointed in his arbeque sauce at games. That’s one small step for Powdrell, one giant leap for cultural transference.
Local chef Rob Connoley, famed for his often foraged menu at the now defunct (cough) Curious Kumquat in Silver City, is signing copies of his new cookbook, Acorns & Cattails, at Las Cosas Kitchen Shoppe (181 Paseo De Peralta ) in Santa Fe. The book signing is from 3-5pm on Sept. 29, and there will be a $95 cooking class at 6pm, presumably involving stuff you’d find in your backyard. To register call 877-229-7184.
