Christee’s Spuds, Burgers & More is moving to 8600 Indian School this month (where Sheila’s Sweets used to be). Apparently, the property owner for Christee’s sold the ground out from under them, but the owners are happier with the new location, anyway. So there.

The Far North shopping center at San Mateo and Academy is filling up like my dance card. Last month saw the opening of Aura, a European, Mediterranean and Armenian restaurant, and now there’s news of two more eateries on the way: Doughboy’s Bake Shoppe (a full-service bakery) and Aloha Poke (serving those frigging awesome poke bowls).

Arizona-based Sauce Pizza and Wine is trying to move into our territory, people. Next summer, they’ll be opening a location in Winrock Town Center. Good luck trying to win us over, though. We’re classically-trained, xenophobic Burqueños, and no bubbly, delicious, cheese-bloated pie is going to … change … that … Tell you what: I’ll grab a small pizza, just to—you know—see how much I hate it.
