“HomeGrown: A New Mexico Food Show & Gift Market” is happening on Nov. 19-20 at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces. Farmers and food-crafters from all over N.M. will be selling their homemade food wares and you can give your support by stocking up. The market will be open 9am-4pm. Admission is $5 per vehicle.

Food News Not So Wise After All
Sysco New Mexico has filed a lawsuit against former WisePies owner Michael Baird, the WisePies corporate entity, two WisePies franchises and four other restaurant entities tied to Baird over an alleged $257,671 debt in unpaid food bills. A spokesperson for WisePies said they have no debt with Sysco, since food orders are made by individual locations, not the company.

Buffalo Thunder is hosting the annual Margarita Festival on Nov. 19 from noon-5 pm. A $20 ticket will get you samples of tequilas, margaritas and food tastings. Bring 3 10-ounce cans of non-perishable food to this 21-and-over party, and you’ll get a commemorative t-shirt. The food bank Food Depot will be getting 25 percent of the ticket proceeds.
