Some students down at Maggie Cordova Elementary are building gingerbread houses to support Meals on Wheels. It’s all part of an annual fundraiser that auctions off the houses to help bring food to the underprivileged. Apparently, the number of “dispenser licenses” allowed are limited according to population, meaning a new one hasn’t been sold since 1982. Most new places have to buy an existing one from a private owner.
Some doctors are saying you should be careful with all those charcoal supplements that are so popular these days. They say that outside of hospitals using it for cases of poisoning, there isn’t much in the way of actual scientific study proving the claims being made by supplement companies. So think twice before you reach for that charcoal lemonade (gross).
