Texas Land & Cattle has officially shut its doors. Apparently, Day Star Restaurant Group, the owners of the eatery, announced in January that it was closing restaurants nationwide due to heavy losses in 2016.
As long as Gov. Martinez approves Senate Bill 374, schools will be prohibited from publicly identifying students who are behind in meal payments. Can you imagine someone taking a kid’s lunch away because their parents can’t keep up with the bill? Shameful.
This week is the fifth annual Farmworkers Awareness Week (FAW) hosted at the UNM Student Union Building atrium. The event hopes to bring awareness to farmworkers issues in the Southwest.
Chello N Grill, a new Mediterranean restaurant, will be opening in the next two months in the Pavilions at San Mateo shopping center. I can never get enough Middle Eastern food!
Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul’s fictional fast food chain, Los Pollos Hermanos (which famously borrowed ABQ’s Twister’s restaurants for sets), will be opening a temporary location in Los Angeles on March 29 and 30. (They’ll only serve fries, though.)
Some of us are worried about the Trump administration’s proposed cuts to Health and Human Services. Local programs like Meals on Wheels and Home Delivered Meals—who bring food to those who can’t get it, themselves—are holding their breath to see what that will mean for them.
