The owners of Cheese and Coffee (119 San Pasquale SW) just announced that the popular Downtown deli will be closing its doors every day at 3pm from now on, and reopening at 4pm as Seared—a finer dining, beer-and-wine restaurant. The grand opening will be Friday, Aug. 25.
McDonald’s India says its partner Connaught Plaza Restaurants violated the terms of their franchise agreement by not making royalty payments. In response, they announced last week that they will be closing down 169 India locations. I was never comfortable with the setup, anyhow. I know it wasn’t real beef, but a burger joint in India just seems uncouth.
Frontier Restaurant (2400 Central SE) is getting serious about their parking. They say students (and maybe some faculty) at UNM have been using their lot to park in, and from now on, if you’re there more than an hour, your car will be “makeshift” (whatever that means) booted and possibly towed. If you tend to hang around a restaurant longer than an hour, I guess you’re not welcome, either.
