Herbfest 2019 is happening May 11 and 12 at the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park (2901 Candelaria Rd NW) from 10am to 4pm. The festival combines nature and music once again this year; an exciting variety of musical groups will perform both days. You’ll also be able to buy a bunch of herbs, wildflowers, native plants and arts and crafts. Be sure to check out the educational speakers, plus guided bird and bosque walks. Everyone’s favorite location to visit, the Rail Yards Market aka Albuquerque’s iconic farmers’ market is slated to reopen on Sunday, May 5. Opening at 10am, the theme this year is traditions. This will be the sixth year of the Rail Yards Market, with the announcement of over 100 vendors of fresh produce, fine food, healing hands and handmade art. “Spring couldn’t be here fast enough, as farms, foodies, artisans, and organizers chug along to prepare the finest Growers’ Market experience for locals and tourists alike,” says the page’s event listing, which sounds par for the course. Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro (3009 Central Ave NE) is holding their Parlez-Vous Francais? dinner on Saturday, April 27. Featuring a six-course tasting menu of French cuisine paired with French wines, you’ll have the option to engage with traditional French bistro dishes, as well as innovative plays on said traditional dishes. Ticket costs per person for just food are $48, or $69 (nice!) per person for included wine pairings. That of course stands for Dungeons and Dragons and Drinking, which is what is happening at both Red Door Brewing locations (400 Gold Ave SW and 1001 Candelaria Rd NE), on Sundays from 4pm to 9pm. Whether it’s your first time playing, or you’re an experienced adventurer looking for somewhere to try out your halfling bard who is also mute (thanks for making it weird, nerd!), you’ll find a space at the table just right for you.
