The stock market is contracting so fast you can almost hear it snap. But there’s an upside to tight times. They remind us that wealth isn’t how much we own, it’s valuing what we have. And the most fortunate people are rich in friends, neighbors, family, community.

Taking stock in that most precious natural resource is Sweet Jazz on Sunday, March 8, at Sandia Presbyterian Church (10704 Paseo del Norte NE). Through music and your donations, the concert aims to help the Interfaith Hospitality Network provide services and housing to local families that are threatened with homelessness.

$15 tickets buy you an evening with pianist Sid Fendley and his very talented friends: bassist Mark Smith, drummer Ken Ballat, trumpeter Paul Gonzales and a Whitman’s Sampler of sweet singers—Kari Simmons, Dianna Hughes, Linda Myers and Susan Clark.

All proceeds from the soiree go straight to the nonprofit IHN. Buy your tickets in advance at the Interfaith Hospitality Network offices (2801 Lomas NE,
ihnabq.org), or get them at Sandia Presbyterian Church before the performance. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
