Burque's Thursday night tradition of gothic music and dancing began in 1990 at Maxwell's, a long-gone after-hours club in the Heights. The event has since been passed through several nightclubs, including Ritual (now Ned's Downtown), U.N. (now OPM), the Sunshine Theatre and Pulse. “But it's outlasted every venue,” says the nearly 20-year veteran of the club business. Cole is a staunch supporter of all-ages venues and events, and says that while the new venture at OPM is 21-and-older, he hopes to return to the night's popular 18-and-older format soon. In the meantime, admission is free. And how will all this sit with OPM's notoriously strict dress code? “We basically have one, too,” Cole says. “It's called ’black.'”
