This week, music-based Haiti benefits in Albuquerque abound. Even the Alibi is getting in on the action. Let’s start with that.

The Weekly Alibi’s Rock for Haiti takes place on Thursday, Jan. 28, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Launchpad (618 Central SW) and contains a stellar, eclectic lineup. Mellower acts perform earlier in the evening, while loud rock ensues later (skim down for the exact schedule). In addition to music, complimentary frozen goodness from Ecco Gelato will be served, and raffles for local art, ski lift tickets and other excellent prizes will be held. A minimum $5 donation is requested and 100 percent of the money goes to the Red Cross. Also, bring your old cell phones and chuck them into the donation box. We’ll send those to relief organizations in Haiti, too.
