Friday April 8; Stella Blue, (21 and over, 8 p.m.): Branded as Albuquerque's best reggae band, by yours truly, Mystic Vision blends traditional reggae rhythms, dancehall beats and hip-hop. This Friday night, Mystic Vision will introduce their sophomore release, a musical opus featuring local faves such as “40 East,” “Con Trails,” “Great Trembling,” “India” and many more.

Fellow local reggae masters One Foundation—who will release their first CD that evening—will join in the celebration. This is appropriate, of course, since Mystic Vision and One Foundation are really a combined force, using several of the same musicians: Nathan Kappel on bass, Joey “General” Evans on drums and Matt Korce on lead guitar. The chemistry that's sure to explode on stage will keep you dancing even after the boys have left the building.

Other local talent on the evening's roster includes hip-hop duo the 2bers; La Junta, a group mixing blues, rock and a dash of Latin; folk rock soulsters Lost Lingo; and DJ Imeh, who will spin choice dancehall, dub, drum and bass cuts throughout the night.

Stella Blue owners Jaime and Alisa continue to support the local music scene with a passion. Come on down and see the kind of rockin' show this venue offers on a regular basis.
