Saturday, Dec. 3; Atomic Cantina (21-and-over), free: Seis Pistos are from Chihuahua, Mexico, where the locals' overwhelming musical preference lies in traditional ranchero songs and cumbias. But, given the increasingly borderless global society we all inhabit, that's starting to change: A performance at a 2004 Toronto music conference drove the point home when these Latin-alternative punks earned a near-perfect score of 99 out of 100. Ay-yay-yay!

There's just one small problem here. The Alibi doesn't speak a whole lot of Spanish; and, well, Seis Pistos (whose name comes from a Mexicanized version of The Sex Pistols) works predominately en español. So we decided to meet halfway through the power of Spanglish.

How long has Seis Pistos been playing together?

Nos formamos por allá del '96 y hemos parado por ninguna razón, el pedo es hacer música y ser honestos (y a güevo pasarnosla bién chingón haciendolo).

How many releases have you put together since then?

Tenemos ya tres discos y estamos terminando el cuarto, va a sir pronto y va a estar bién chingón porque le estamos metiendo todos los güevotes.

And who are your influences?

Nuestras principales influencias son: La Polla Records, Rancid, Bad Religion, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Operation Ivy, Minor Threat, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Café Tacuba, La Maldita Vecindad, NOFX, Rebel’d Punk, entre otros pero escuchamos todo tipo de música desde las rolas de Tin Tan pasando por el Iron Maiden hasta jazz de viejitos.

You don't say?

Checa la rola “No Puede Ser” para que vayas viendo como viene este nuevo disco.

Gracias, boys.

No problemo.
