Fox Fletcher is the guitar player for and a founding member of Albuquerque’s Leiahdorus (which releases its third full-length album this weekend—see right). He also teaches guitar lessons, makes his own guitars and is an avid photographer. Below is a wild smattering of computer-selected tracks from his collection.

Song Roulette

1) “Lucille” • Kenny Rogers • Kenny Rogers

“Not a huge Kenny fan, but good for the background every once in a while. I’ve always been perplexed by the popularity of this song, as it’s not one of his best.”

2) “Why Are You Weird?” • Scared of Chaka • Crossing With Switchblades

“My all-time favorite Albuquerque band and very inspirational during the early years of my musical development. This track was from one of the last couple of albums, and not entirely memorable. Sorry guys, but your early stuff had me rewinding tape to figure out chord progressions.”

3) “Modesty Plays” • Sparks • Music That You Can Dance To

“No, not the Latina pop band, but the two amazingly talented Mael brothers from L.A. A huge source of musical inspiration in recent years for me, but not the best track on
Music That You Can Dance To .”

Song Roulette

4) “Viet Nam” • Minutemen • Double Nickels on the Dime

“If I had a nickel for every D. Boon guitar part I got stuck in my head—this is one for sure. Mike Watt has always been there for me as well.”

Song Roulette

5) “Dance Pattern” • Electric Six • I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being the Master

“Who wants to dance? Put this on and everyone will raise their hand. Catchy without being annoying, this band makes it impossible not to at least think about dancing.”
