New band the KC Strangle is made up of former members of Jet Black Summer, Into the Quick and Your Name in Lights. On Saturday, March 5, the band debuts at Burt’s Tiki Lounge on a bill with SuperGiant and Lousy Robot. 3) “How Much I Feel” • Ambrosia • Life Beyond L.A. “I believe this was their biggest hit in ’78. I’m sure Hall & Oates heard this song and immediately stepped up their game. Then, Steely Dan came along and showed everyone how it was done. Fact: Ambrosia is the Greek word for the food/drink of the gods that gives ageless immortality. Hope you like classic rock and smooth jazz stations. Thanks to bands like these guys, you’re going to be hearing these songs for a long time to come.”

4) “How It Ends” • Devotchka • How It Ends “It’s not enough to say I love this song. I love this whole record! I saw them play at Launchpad a couple of years ago and was blown away. Shortly after, I noticed they had a song in the movie Little Miss Sunshine . Big hit. They then followed that up with a spot on a Coachella concert lineup. What a quick climb to popularity, and well-deserved. The mood of their music takes me back to my Mexican villa right off the Baja coast. Wish I were there right now. And one more thing. Tuba players, you now have a future in rock and roll.”

I recommend going to your local hi-fi home audio store, purchasing the biggest B&W speakers they have, back that up with ridiculous power amps, invite all your best-looking friends and crank it up ’til the party patrol shows up and doesn’t care that you and your friends are over 21, or that you are at your own home.”
