Pietro Berardinelli is frontman and rhythm guitar player for ass-shredding Burque metal band Bodies of Evidence. On Saturday, Sept. 11, the four-piece releases its first album, titled A Time to Rise . The party takes place at the Launchpad (21+, $5) starting at 9 p.m. with opening performances by The Ground Beneath, Caustic Lye and Tetelestai. Below is a five-song sampler of Berardinelli’s diverse listening material.
1) “Smackie the Frog” • Mitch Hedberg • Strategic Grill Locations “I love stand-up comedy. This was one of the funniest dudes EVER. I am going to choose to believe that the heart attack was from laughing too hard. Check him out!”
2) “Flash of the Blade” • Iron Maiden • Powerslave “If you don’t call yourself the biggest Iron Maiden fan in the world, you haven’t listened to them yet. UP THE IRONS!”
3) “Sober And Irrelevant” • In Flames • A Sense of Purpose “This is still one of my top 10 albums since it came out in 2008. This is an awesome song. Great melodies and super heavy.”
4) “Milkcow’s Calf Blues” • Robert Johnson • The Complete Recordings “I love this song. It’s probably been redone a hundred times just like every one of the few classics from the man who basically started it all.”
5) “To the Teeth” • Ani DiFranco • So Much Shouting, So Much Laughter “All right, I admit it. I love Ani. She’s a badass songwriter and guitarist. This particular song tells a little truth and has a powerful message, much like a lot of her songs. Ani DiFranco. Not just for lesbians anymore!”
