Tenderizor is a thrash noise band from Albuquerque. The five-piece just released its first record, Touch The Sword , and on Monday, May 23, performs at The Kosmos (1715 Fifth Street NW) with Japanese psychedelic rock band / cult Acid Mothers Temple. Vanquishing the format rules of Song Roulette, Tenderizor—collectively—offers random tracks it was jamming on cassette in the van on a West Coast Tour(oar) this spring.
1) "Expendable Youth" • Slayer • Seasons in the Abyss "Really learned so much lyrically and poetically from this song. This one is Slayer’s ‘Knocking on Heaven’s Door.’ Also notable for being the first song where a metal band addressed the serious issue of ‘accidental death homicide’."
2) "(Pardon Me) I’ve Got Someone to Kill" • Johnny Paycheck • The Real Mr. Heartache: The Little Darlin’ Years "This song really justifies murder, and there’s nothing more metal than real murder. Also Johnny Paycheck was kinda cute."
3) "Christian Resistance" • Holy Terror • Mind Wars "Pure unadulterated knucklehead-ism at its finest. All over the place and mindless: like all masterpieces. The sound track to brutal man-love."
4) "Jailbait" • Motörhead • Ace of Spades "I was eating a ‘surf and turf’ at Goggleknocker’s in Needles, Calif., when I first heard this song. I’m pretty sure Lemmy was singing about me. A real ‘Chili Baby’.”
5) "Maggot Brain" • Funkadelic • Maggot Brain "A truly golden hit. This song makes Kerby really paranoid."
