Wednesday, Sept. 15; Lensic Performing Arts Center (211 West San Francisco Street, Santa Fe, all-ages, 7:30 p.m.): Since the late '50s, the Neville name has been synonymous with New Orleans-style R&B. The four brothers who share the name—Art, Charles, Aaron and Cyril—have worked together over the years in pairs, as a trio and as solo artists, but there's something infinitely special about the Neville Brothers working as a quartet; something that can't quite be matched.

Since 1977, in fact, when the four brothers officially joined forces under the Neville Brothers moniker, the group has released nine studio albums (more than half of which are quite arguably groundbreaking) and a host of anthologies and best-of collections. They've long enjoyed a large, rabid cult following, but have done as much for mainstream R&B as any other artist at any other time in the genre's history. The Neville's New Mexico appearances have grown more and more infrequent over the years as their star has gradually continued to rise, so tonight should be viewed as a very special opportunity. Don't miss out!

Tickets range between $34 and $47 and are available exclusively at the Lensic Box Office (505-986-1858). You will be required to specify your preferred section—dancing or non-dancing—when purchasing tickets.
