Friday—Taking a break from the road, Justin Ray will be the featured musician at Scalo's Jazz Jam this Friday. The Albuquerque-born trumpet player is an alumni of two of the country's top music schools (the Berklee School of Music and USC) and currently tours with Michael Bublé—who as you may know, is one of the top jazz singers in the world at the moment. Catch this dude on his own turf, with pal Stu MacAskie, at Scalo Northern Italian Grill (3500 Central SE, 255-8781) from 8:30 p.m. to midnight.
Also, funky grunge three-piece Moray will release their full-length album, Your Amusement, at Atomic Cantina. The show is free, but only for those of legal drinking age.

Saturday—Genesis for the Arts, a huge annual benefit show for breast cancer research, will once again take over the El Rey Theater and Puccini's Golden West Saloon (Seventh Street and Central SW, 514-7122) with scores of great local bands for a fabulous cause. Highlights include a farewell performance by Inphusion and a musical appearance by the lovely Leah Black (yeah, from the radio). It's just $5 for admission to both places—cheap!

Sunday—Radio Free Santa Fe is turning 10 this month! If you like what you hear, you can party with the people that make Santa Fe’s innovative radio station happen at the Santa Fe Brewing Company (18 E. Frontage Road) beginning at 7 p.m. James McMurtry and the Heartless Bastards will headline along with Hundred Year Flood. Admission is $9.81 in advance at (505) 988-1234 or www.ticketssantafe.org. Tuesday—If you were too poor to make it out the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year (or perhaps too stoned to remember any of it), here's your chance to witness all the sweaty, dirt-caked music madness for yourself. Four Hills movie theater (13120 Central SE, just west of Tramway) will screen a two-hour film detailing six years of Coachella's best bits and performances.
